The airline that disappeared from Israel after the war broke out is moving up its return to Ben Gurion Airport. Air Canada announced it will resume service between Toronto and Tel Aviv at the end of November, significantly earlier than the date it had planned to restart operations. The airline is now set to bring back flights on November 30, 2026, instead of January 17, 2027. That’s about six weeks earlier, giving passengers traveling between Israel and Canada the option of a direct flight again during the upcoming winter season.
There are currently no direct flights between Israel and Toronto, so Air Canada’s return will restore the direct route between the two cities. For passengers flying to the Canadian destination, that means avoiding a connecting flight and building the trip around a direct route—after a period when that option wasn’t available.
When operations resume, Air Canada is expected to run four flights a week on the Toronto–Tel Aviv route during the winter season. That’s a frequency that should allow greater flexibility in trip planning, compared to a route operating with more limited service.
The early return comes after the airline initially planned to come back to Israel only in mid-January 2027. Now it’s moving up the return date, so flights are expected to start on November 30 and enter the winter flight schedule.
For passengers, the change isn’t just a new date on the flight board. After a period without a direct flight between Tel Aviv and Toronto, Air Canada’s return is expected to add back a direct option to the destination and expand Israelis’ flight options to Canada for the winter season.
