Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel must take advantage of the two years remaining in U.S. President Donald Trump’s current term to bring down Iran’s regime and expand the Abraham Accords, warning that Israel has reason to be concerned about who occupies the White House after 2028.
Speaking to C14’s Sophia Tupolev, Netanyahu described Trump as “the greatest friend by far that Israel has ever had in the White House” and said the two leaders have an opportunity to eliminate what he called the Iranian axis.
“Let’s bring down this monstrous regime,” Netanyahu said, describing it as the only way to prevent Tehran from rebuilding its nuclear weapons program, which he said Israel and the United States had previously derailed.
“We can do it. I can do it with President Trump,” Netanyahu declared, adding that he appreciated the American president’s “extraordinary support.”
Netanyahu framed the partnership as both a personal friendship and a shared understanding of the security threats facing the two countries.
He also pointed to the diplomatic opportunities that could follow, highlighting the Abraham Accords, established during Trump’s first term, and expressing optimism about expanding the agreements.
“The expansion of the Abraham Accords is waiting in the wings,” Netanyahu said. “A lot of countries.”
