Lebanon has received formal diplomatic communications from the United States, European governments, and regional Arab states warning against any military intervention in an impending confrontation between Israel and Iran, making clear that an Israeli military response would be severe, expansive, and devoid of prior constraints, according to a report published by the Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar.

A senior Lebanese government source told the newspaper that Washington relayed the message directly to Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, facilitated through Lebanon’s Ambassador to the United States, Nada Mouawad. According to the official, the communication underscored that any entry by Hezbollah into an armed escalation would be met with an unrestricted Israeli offensive that would remove all previous operational red lines.
The concerted warnings come amid escalating regional tensions and the prospect of direct hostilities resuming between Israel and Iran. Regional and international sources cited in the report indicated that the United States and Israel are coordinating diplomatic and strategic levers to prevent the campaign from expanding across multiple fronts, ensuring that operational military focus remains concentrated against Tehran while denying Hezbollah the opportunity to open an active northern theater.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese presidency announced that a Lebanese military delegation is scheduled to participate in a trilateral summit on Tuesday in Tampa, Florida, alongside American and Israeli representatives. The talks are expected to focus on regional security coordination and enforcement mechanisms for existing understandings. At the same time, Lebanese representatives intend to press for an immediate cessation of IDF operational strikes in Lebanese territory.
