An Austrian Airlines flight from Ben Gurion Airport to Vienna was diverted to Sofia, Bulgaria, after a bomb threat. All passengers and crew evacuated safely.

An Austrian Airlines flight that took off from Ben Gurion Airport en route to Vienna, Austria, declared an emergency this evening (Sunday). The reason for the declaration was a report of a bomb on the aircraft. Following the alert, the plane was diverted from its original route and landed safely.

The pilots followed strict protocols for such cases and declared the international emergency code ‘7700’. The declaration led to the immediate diversion of the aircraft to the nearest airport prepared to receive it—Sofia International Airport, the capital of Bulgaria. Emergency and rescue forces were waiting for the plane on the ground.

After the safe landing, all passengers and crew were taken off the aircraft. Senior officials confirmed that the matter is under comprehensive investigation to verify the source of the report and rule out any danger. At this stage, full details about the incident are still being examined by the competent authorities in Bulgaria and Israel.
