A man dressed as a woman joined the "Women of the Wall" feminist group protesting ‘patriarchal policy' at the Western Wall Plaza.

The unorthodox feminist group “Women of the Wall” arrived this morning (Monday) at the Western Wall plaza in Jerusalem, disrupting the thousands of worshippers who had gathered for the festive Rosh Chodesh prayers for the month of Cheshvan. The group arrived in small numbers; a man—dressed as a woman—joined the unusual event. Police removed the man from the women’s section after he caused a disturbance.

The group arrived at the Western Wall plaza as part of their regular Rosh Chodesh activities, which aim to incite provocation at the Jewish people’s holiest site. Their actions caused significant disruption to other female worshippers who had come to the Western Wall specifically for the Rosh Chodesh Cheshvan prayers.

The activities of the group, known as “Women of the Wall,” have sparked intense public and religious controversy for many years. Its members regularly visit the Western Wall plaza at the start of the Hebrew month; the nature of their prayer, which involves women taking the religious roles of men, does not align with local customs or established plaza regulations, leading to frequent friction at the site.
