Journalist and author Eldad Beck addressed the ongoing riots in France on Sunday during an interview with Ido Tauber, issuing a grave warning regarding their long-term implications for the country’s political trajectory and the continent as a whole: “If there is a political breakthrough in France by the radical left collaborating with radical Islam, we can say Kaddish for Europe.”

Beck noted that a substantial portion of those participating in the riots have no connection whatsoever to the student and youth demonstrations, asserting that external agitators are exploiting the protests to channel hostility against French society. He sharply criticized protest organizers for failing to condemn the violence and, in some cases, actively legitimizing it.
“France is in a state of chaos; France is in a state of street terror. They wanted a globalized intifada, and now they are getting a globalized intifada,” Beck emphasized. He reiterated that the events transcend disputes over educational funding or school conditions, reflecting instead an expansive political struggle ahead of France’s upcoming presidential elections. Given France’sF’pivotal anchor role within the European Union, Beck cautioned that developments unfolding in Paris carry repercussions extending far beyond its borders. The ascendance of radical left-wing factions allied with Islamist forces threatens to alter the continent’sc’broader political landscape and global security posture fundamentally.
Concluding the interview, Beck addressed the vulnerabilities facing France’s Jewish community amid spiraling antisemitism and public instability. “French Jews are acutely aware of the gravity of the situation. They find themselves between a rock and a hard place,” Beck said, warning that the ideological nexus between the radical left and radical Islam presents an acute, mounting threat to their safety.
Student protests initially erupted across France over alleged budgetary deficits, staff shortages, and inadequate educational infrastructure. The demonstrations rapidly escalated into violent clashes with police forces and extensive property damage to educational institutions.
