Polish police received intelligence concerning a potential attack targeting Prime Minister Donald Tusk and his deputy, Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Polish Ministry of the Interior spokesperson Karolina Gałecka announced on social media platform X on Sunday. Following the alert, senior national security officials ordered immediate measures to verify the threat and adjust operational readiness accordingly.

According to the Interior Ministry’s statement, Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński and Minister Coordinator of Special Services Tomasz Siemoniak instructed security agencies to act upon the intelligence received by the police. As part of the response, the police scheduled a special meeting at the Counter-Terrorism Center of Poland’s Internal Security Agency (ABW).
The security alert arrives during a period of heightened domestic tension across the country, fueled by a wave of violent incidents in academic institutions. Over the span of four days, three separate stabbing incidents occurred in schools, leaving several people injured and resulting in the death of a school employee on Thursday.

So far, authorities have not released details on the identity of the entities allegedly behind the threat, the nature of the anticipated attack, or its feasibility. Polish authorities continue to investigate the intelligence, and no arrests have yet been announced in connection with the suspected plot against senior government leaders.
