The Foreign Ministry’s appointments committee, chaired by Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, approved a slate of senior diplomatic appointments on Sunday. The committee named new heads of mission to India, Ghana, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Sa’ar will bring the appointments to the Ministerial Committee on Foreign Service Appointments and the full cabinet for approval.

Sharon Bar-Li, currently deputy director general of the Africa Division and former ambassador to Ghana and deputy ambassador to the UK, was appointed ambassador to New Delhi and non-resident ambassador to Bhutan and Sri Lanka. Ronit Nudelman Perl, currently an envoy in the Europe Division who previously headed the Civic Diplomacy Department and served as consul in Boston, was named ambassador to Accra and non-resident ambassador to Liberia and Sierra Leone.
Kobi Shoshani, currently ambassador for Indian communities in the North America Division and former consul general in Mumbai and internal affairs director, was appointed resident ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo. The appointment follows Sa’ar’s decision to open an Israeli embassy in Kinshasa, alongside Congo’s move of its embassy to Jerusalem—making it the 11th country to maintain an embassy in Israel’s capital.
