Israeli police launched an investigation Wednesday after human skeletal remains were discovered in an open area near HaShiva Junction in central Israel. A passerby walking in the area spotted the remains and called police.
Officers from the Holon station in the Ayalon district rushed to the scene and began preliminary investigative work. They worked closely with forensic investigators from the Tel Aviv district, who conducted extensive searches and carefully collected all findings and forensic evidence from the scene. Police cordoned off the area to carry out the professional work in the open field.
All remains and findings collected during the searches were immediately transferred to the forensic institute for further examination and identification. Law enforcement is now working to determine the identity of the body and examine all investigative leads. The investigation continues under Holon station detectives, who are examining all circumstances and awaiting findings from the forensic institute.
