The Higher Planning Council has officially advanced and validated plans for 567 new housing units in Judea and Samaria across two master plans in Asa’el and Beit Hagai. Under the approvals, 342 units were authorized in Asa’el, along with 225 additional units in Beit Hagai.

At the center of the decision is the town of Asa’el, where the approval of the 342-unit plan completes the formal statutory regularization of the community under official planning procedures.
Meanwhile, Beit Hagai approved a plan for 225 new housing units. The Mount Hebron Regional Council noted that the construction is expected to double the Jewish community’s footprint.

Finance Minister and Minister within the Defense Ministry Bezalel Smotrich welcomed the decision, calling it “vital news for Jewish communities in the region.” Smotrich stated: “Against an Eizenkot-Lieberman-Golan government that seeks to dismantle our communities and establish a ‘Palestinian’ state overlooking Ben Gurion Airport and Soroka Hospital, we are regularizing the town of Asa’el and doubling Beit Hagai. Not with empty talk, but with action.”
Smotrich affirmed that he will continue advancing construction and legal regularization throughout Judea and Samaria, adding: “We will continue to lead a sweeping wave of building and regularization because this land belongs to us.”

Mount Hebron governor Eliram Azulay likewise characterized the approvals as a “historic breakthrough for Jewish communities in Mount Hebron.” Azulay noted: “The approval of 567 housing units, the regularization of the town of Asa’el, and the doubling of the Jewish community of Beit Hagai are an unequivocal response to anyone attempting to undermine our hold on the land.”
