The new town of Noa has been established in northern Samaria, south of the communities of Ganim and Kadim. According to the Samaria Regional Council, this is the eighth community the council has established in the region in less than a year. The first families have arrived and begun building a new community.
2+The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by Samaria Governor Yossi Dagan, Culture and Sports Minister Miki Zohar, National Missions Minister Orit Strock, Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism Minister Amichai Chikli, and Knesset members Boaz Bismuth and Zev Haber (Zambish). During the event, a mezuzah was affixed, and the first residential structures in the town were inaugurated.
Noa was established south of Ganim and Kadim, communities that were evacuated as part of the disengagement plan and recently returned to the land. The Samaria Regional Council says the establishment of the town is intended to strengthen Jewish presence in northern Samaria and create continuity in the area.
2+The establishment of the community comes a year after a cabinet decision led by Ministers Israel Katz and Bezalel Smotrich, and as part of the “Reconnection Plan” being led by the Samaria Council. According to the council, the plan includes establishing 19 new communities in the northern Samaria area, alongside the “Million in Samaria Plan” to bring a million residents to the region.
Samaria Governor Yossi Dagan said at the ceremony: “Blessed is He who sets the boundary of the widow. There is no blessing more moving and appropriate for this moment. In a place where they sought to uproot and expel, today we merit building a new town and bringing pioneering families to the land. After years of stubborn struggle, northern Samaria is rising again.
2+“The establishment of Noa is a victorious Zionist answer to all those who thought resettlement would stop. From the four communities that were uprooted, we will grow into many towns, thriving communities, and thousands of families.”
Shira Bar-Gad, a mother of two who moved to the new town from Jerusalem, said: “We waited for this a long time; it’s exciting that it’s finally happening, that it’s turning from a hill with nothing on it into a community. Now we see the road they’re paving and the caravans that arrived—really exciting. Yehuda, my older son, is also excited and talks about it. When we visited my sister in her town, he said, ‘Right, there was nothing here once either?'”
