The IDF Binyamin Regional Brigade has issued a rare, direct clarification to local residents, defining the recent detention of an Israeli reservist on Route 450 (Beituniya Bypass / Derech HaMeozim) as an extremely grave, unlawful operation carried out in blatant breach of existing agreements. According to a first report by Channel 14’s Eliah Aviv, the IDF has suspended security coordination in the sector and is demanding that the ‘Palestinian’ Authority prosecute the armed officers who carried out the abduction. Simultaneously, it was revealed that in a formal briefing presented to Israeli cabinet ministers by a Central Command representative, ministers were initially provided only with the official PA narrative of the incident, concealing the severe violation of sovereignty on the ground.

Binyamin Brigade’s Official Clarification to Residents
In a direct statement delivered by a senior officer in the Binyamin Brigade, the military clarified its stance on the incident:
“Dear residents,
Following the incident that occurred on the Meozim Route (Route 450 / Beituniya Bypass), the Binyamin Brigade clarifies that this is an extremely grave event. The Binyamin Territorial Brigade views the incident as a blatant violation of agreements by ‘Palestinian’ police officers, exiting Area A and detaining an Israeli Jewish citizen inside Area C.
Upon receiving the operational report, brigade forces scrambled immediately to the scene, rescued the resident from the custody of the ‘Palestinian’ officers, and returned him safely along with all of his personal property. We see supreme value in opening the Meozim Route and additional arteries for civilian traffic, but at the same time, the responsibility for securing all motorists rests on our shoulders. We are working to establish the ‘Yad Yair’ military outpost alongside additional outposts and extensive security measures to ensure safe civilian transit along these routes.”
