Forces from the Defense Ministry’s Economic Warfare on Terror headquarters, together with the Jerusalem District Central Unit and Border Police fighters, raided the homes of terrorists and their family members in East Jerusalem in recent days after they continued to receive payments from the ‘Palestinian’ Authority even after being released in hostage deals.
1+The operation was carried out under seizure orders imposed by Defense Minister Israel Katz on the funds and property of terrorists released in hostage deals. During the raids, forces seized five vehicles, approximately ₪96,000 in cash, and gold jewelry, with a combined value of hundreds of thousands of shekels.
Among the homes raided was that of Mahmoud Abd al-Rahman Abbad, who, according to the security establishment, was involved in 2002 in an attempted suicide bombing in Jerusalem.
1+Forces also raided the home of Ahed Faiz Ali al-Natsheh, a Hamas operative who, according to the announcement, was involved in 2001 in planning a car bomb explosion in a Pisgat Ze’ev apartment building parking lot and in planning the attack at the “Klal” center in Jerusalem, in which two police officers and ten civilians were wounded.
The security establishment said the sanctions were imposed on security prisoners—residents and Israeli citizens—who continue to receive payments and financial rewards from the ‘Palestinian’ Authority for the acts of terror they committed.
