Anthropic, the AI giant behind the Claude chatbot, is in advanced talks to acquire Israeli startup Decart AI in a deal valued at around $6 billion, according to reports published in Bloomberg and international media. If completed, the acquisition would mark the largest in Anthropic’s history—the company considered OpenAI’s main rival—and rank among Israel’s most significant tech deals in recent years.

The company specializes in developing infrastructure and optimization technologies for artificial intelligence, alongside visual models that enable real-time video creation and processing at unprecedented speeds. Among other innovations, the company developed the “Lucy” model, capable of editing live video, and the “Oasis” model, which generates simulated environments for training and testing robotics and autonomous driving systems. For Anthropic, the potential acquisition comes at a critical time, as the company prepares for a stock market IPO and works to expand its computing power. Decart’s technology helps chips operate far more efficiently, which could significantly reduce the training costs of AI models and help Anthropic handle the massive surge in demand for its services. If the deal closes, Decart’s engineering team is expected to integrate into Anthropic’s scale and performance division—the department responsible for the model’s real-time performance.

Last May, the company raised $300 million in a funding round that included chip giant Nvidia, alongside leading venture firms like Sequoia and Benchmark. At this stage, both Anthropic and Decart have declined to provide official comment on the reports about their negotiations.
