When Naftali Bennett hijacked votes from his supporters to form a government propped up by Ra’am—the Israeli branch of the Muslim Brotherhood—he broke something fundamental in the foundations on which the Zionist Jewish state was built. The fact that a Jew, a former elite unit fighter, flesh and blood of religious Zionism, sold everything for his lust for power, traded the Yesha Council for the Shura Council and allowed it to hold the Jewish state—the dream of all generations—by the throat, was for many a deep shock, an irreversible act for which there is no forgiveness.
4+The move that retired police commissioner Yoav Segalovitz may very well make in the foreseeable future, according to numerous reports, is far worse than what Bennett did. Bennett used Abbas then, and Abbas, for his part, seized the opportunity. Ra’am served as a tool in his game, and he was ripe—the interests of both sides aligned: Bennett’s pathological lust for power presented the Islamic Movement with the moment it had been waiting for—the opening through which it would penetrate the heart of Israel’s decision-making centers. Finally came the moment they yearned for, the moment of handing over the keys to the Zionist Jewish state to those whose entire purpose is to destroy it from within.
I tried to explain to myself why Segalovitz’s emerging move disturbs me on a much deeper level than what Bennett did, or, for example, more than the partnership of figures like MK Ofer Cassif shoulder to shoulder alongside anti-Zionist Arab elements.
Here are the answers:
1. First, it seems to me that from people like Ofer Cassif there is no expectation at all—they’re simply not with us; they’ve disconnected from the Jewish-Zionist mothership.
2. Regarding Bennett: he and Abbas took advantage of each other back then—a chance exploitation on the way to achieving each other’s goals.
But Segalovitz: he’s neither one nor the other.
4+On the face of it, he’s not some delusional leftist whose deep identity is ‘Palestinian’, but rather a former intelligence officer in the Paratroopers and a former senior official in the Israel Police, the essence of Israeli Zionism, and primarily—he’s not exploiting Abbas for his goals, but the opposite.
According to reports, retired commissioner Yoav Segalovitz is preparing to come willingly, to enlist with open eyes and complete awareness into the ranks of the Israeli branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, to help it achieve its goals here. To whitewash it within the Jewish state.
4+This isn’t an alignment of interests and not a mutual exploitation of opportunity that fate provided—but rather the active and willing walk of a Jew into the ranks of the political arm of the movement from whose house of study both Hamas and Erdoğan’s Turkey also emerged—to advance and achieve the goals of that arm here, so it will go down more smoothly in the throat of the Israeli-Zionist public.
The awareness of the senior Zionist officer (retired, if he completes his move) who is preparing to walk brazenly and help introduce the Islamist-anti-Zionist disease into the heart of the Jewish state—that’s what causes the chill.
The request to be its tool, to serve it willingly and whitewash it—that’s what’s nauseating.
While Arab states around us and our ally the United States have outlawed the Muslim Brotherhood movements within them—here a former army officer, a former senior police officer, a former senior government official—the essence of the Zionist establishment (former, if he completes his move)—brazenly seeks to enter the ranks of Ra’am and serve the Islamic Movement in Israel, some of whose associations worked with terror elements, operated in an enemy state, and financed Hamas.
4+Yoav Segalovitz stands one step away from being remembered in the annals of history as the first Jew to enlist in the ranks of the Muslim Brotherhood and who sought to help them enter the heart of the miracle called Israel and enable them in turn to spread their poison from within.
The emerging/expected union between the spearhead of the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in Israel and the former spearhead of the Israel Police and the Ministry of Internal Security is an irreparable break.
4+In the documentary “Mansour Abbas – The Polite Jihad,” a segment is featured where Abbas refers to the Israeli political spectrum: “It’s all Zionist,” he says, and continues: “We don’t work between good and bad and between worthy and disqualified, we maintain relations with the corrupt and the more corrupt.”
According to Abbas, if you’re a Zionist—meaning you’re corrupt. What makes retired commissioner Yoav Segalovitz think the Islamic Movement looks at him differently? Or perhaps, in its eyes, he’s not a Zionist?
