Francesca Albanese, the UN’s anti-Israel special rapporteur, posted another inflammatory tweet targeting Israeli civilians on Sunday. But this time, the screenshot she attached revealed an embarrassing detail: the person who fed her the information was fringe communist Knesset member Ofer Cassif.

In her post on X, Albanese wrote: “Armed Israeli civilians are planning to storm the ‘West Bank’ tonight. There is no justification, just crimes and impunity, and this must stop.” But this time Albanese didn’t crop the screenshot she attached to the post—exposing that the person who passed her the information was Marxist Knesset member Ofer Cassif.
Cassif himself didn’t try to deny the connection. Responding to the report, he admitted he “updates her regularly”—a statement that illustrates just how upside-down things have become. A member of Israel’s parliament, paid with public funds, openly admits that he routinely feeds a hostile international figure information used to accuse Israel and tarnish its reputation worldwide.
