Calling Murder of Heroes 'Friction' Is Moral Bankruptcy

Former IDF Chief of Staff Moshe Ya'alon called the Judea and Samaria terror attack 'friction' and blamed the victims—even as Israel mourns two fallen heroes.

The heart still refuses to believe the results of the brutal terror attack that occurred in the Samaria, Israel last Friday. Binyahu Mellet, one of the founders of the agricultural outpost movement in Judea and Samaria, jumped in to defend the lives of hikers there and paid with his life along with Major Yuval Ezra. May God avenge them both.

And while we mourn the deaths of these two heroic fighters, there are those in Israel who dare to point the accusing finger at them—at the Jewish side in this incident. You won’t believe what someone who was once IDF Chief of Staff and Defense Minister said that same afternoon.

Ya’alon’s words: “This is not a terror attack. We’re talking about friction that Israelis initiated by going to the mosque in Kfar Tal. This is friction. Now, this doesn’t happen in a vacuum. There’s a policy here, including by ministers in the government.” This isn’t a terror attack, Boogie? [Ya’alon’s nickname] This is friction? Do you really believe what’s coming out of your mouth? How far has your hatred of Netanyahu and the settlers taken you.

How dare you say this when we all saw the horrific attack—practically an execution at point-blank range of Jews settling in the lands of our forefathers. About this you say it’s not a terror attack? How blind have you become to reality? Even October 7th didn’t wake you up? Didn’t you understand what the Arabs of the entire Middle East want to do to every Jew here?

This isn’t just in Samaria. This isn’t just in the Gaza envelope. This is in north Tel Aviv. This is in Afula. This is in the Golan. Wherever there’s a Jew, the Arab enemy will want to destroy him. Boogie Ya’alon and his gang of friends whose eyes are sealed shut still don’t understand this. But the reckoning must come. The Judea and Samaria arena must wake up. It must be at the top of the priority list and put an end to Arab terror that hasn’t stopped here for 150 years.
