Amid a wave of terror attacks and peak tensions in Judea and Samaria, Central Command is going on the offensive: Following a special situation assessment held Saturday evening, Central Command chief Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth ordered a series of dramatic and immediate measures aimed at bolstering security in Israeli communities and combating the terror threat.
At the center of the decisions: a complete and sweeping closure barring ‘Palestinian’ workers from crossing the Green Line and entering all Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria. Key elements of Central Command’s new directives:
• Sweeping entry ban: Complete halt to workers entering all Jewish communities and cities in Judea and Samaria, with no exceptions.
• Construction work outside Jewish communities only: Workers will be permitted to work only at construction sites located outside Jewish community boundaries and fences.
• Strict exemption mechanism: Any work at external construction sites will require individual exemption approval submitted in advance at the request of the settlement itself and subject to close security clearance.
Security officials and Jewish communities are welcoming the aggressive step designed to restore deterrence and calm to the streets.
