Israeli-Arab activist Yoseph Haddad posted disturbing footage Friday showing celebrations and processions in Shechem (Nablus) following the deadly terror attack near Gilad Farm in Samaria. The video shows crowds of Arabs celebrating in the streets, rejoicing over the attack that murdered Benayahu Mellet, 32, a member of the town’s security team. Haddad sharply condemned the celebrants, calling them “cursed terrorists” who glorify death and hatred.
Haddad noted that four terrorists were killed during the firefight, but that didn’t stop crowds from taking to the streets of Nablus to celebrate. “They don’t care that four Palestinian terrorists were eliminated, and even if it were 1,000 terrorists it wouldn’t matter to them,” he wrote. “It’s enough that one Israeli citizen, one Jew was murdered—and that’s reason for a party for them. A culture that glorifies death, hatred and terror.”
The attack occurred when a group of Israeli hikers came under fire in the area. Mellet, a father of two from Gilad Farm, rushed out to help them. A member of the community’s security team and its agriculture coordinator, Mellet was shot dead during his attempt to save lives. Gilad Farm mourned him as a devoted family man, lover of the land and true hero, survived by his wife Esther and two young daughters.
