The IDF said that following an initial investigation into the incident that happened about 2 weeks in which Lt. Col. Dor Gadalya Ben Shimhon, commander of the 52nd Battalion, and three soldiers from the battalion—Staff Sgt. Nave Havshush, Staff Sgt. Yoav Klein, and Staff Sgt. Liav Kavavia—were killed in southern Lebanon, the tank was indeed hit by an explosive drone.
The IDF added that the incident is still under investigation and that the families of the fallen have been updated.
