Lufthansa is expanding its Israel operations and announced a phased increase in flights to and from Israel in July and August, following the resumption of service via Austrian Airlines in early June.
1+According to the group’s announcement, Lufthansa will operate around 29 weekly passenger flights to and from Israel during July 2026. Correction: Starting July 1, Lufthansa will operate 14 weekly flights on the Frankfurt–Tel Aviv route (LH 690/691 and LH 686/687). At the same time, Austrian Airlines will expand its Vienna–Tel Aviv service to 11 weekly flights total. Eurowings is expected to join operations starting mid-July with 4 weekly flights to two destinations—Hamburg (starting July 10) and Düsseldorf (starting July 18).
In August, the group expects to reach approximately 54 weekly flights to and from Israel. As part of the expansion, Lufthansa will resume the Munich–Tel Aviv route starting August 1 with two daily flights (LH 682/683 and LH 680/681). Swiss will also restart operations on the Zurich–Tel Aviv route with one daily flight beginning the same date (LX 252/253).
1+Additionally, Austrian Airlines will increase its Vienna flight frequency from 11 to 14 weekly flights, and Brussels Airlines is expected to operate one weekly flight on the Brussels–Tel Aviv route during August. The phased expansion follows the group’s partial return to Israel operations in June and represents a gradual restoration of service levels from before the recent period.
