The Israel Defense Forces announced that a large-scale military drill began today (Thursday) morning in the southern Hebron Hills area, under the responsibility of the Judea Brigade. The exercise, planned in advance as part of the annual training program for 2026, is expected to conclude by midday.
As part of the drill, residents will notice significant movement of security forces and numerous vehicles throughout the area. In addition, locals may hear gunfire and explosions as part of simulated scenarios being carried out in the field, designed to replicate real operational situations.
An IDF spokesperson emphasized there is no security concern and that the drill is routine activity aimed at maintaining and improving the operational readiness of forces. The announcement was intended to prevent unnecessary alarm among residents in the Judea and Samaria region.
