While Pakistan is trying to present itself as the main mediator between Iran and the United States, there are those in the Middle East who seriously doubt its neutrality. According to our sources, Pakistani mediation is far from fair. Pakistan is in a deep economic crisis, with external debts of more than $100 billion – and a large part of the funds it has received have come from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Western elements.
At the same time, in recent weeks, serious allegations have been made against Islamabad, according to which Pakistan helped the Iranians hide military equipment and transfer sensitive assets – in order to prevent them from being hit by attacks by the United States and Israel.
Now we reveal that Pakistan is trying to use mediation with Washington to serve its own interests as well. Pakistan and Iran have reached an understanding that if Islamabad helps bring about a favorable agreement for Tehran, the Iranians will help it deal with its external debts, using the funds they will earn from the agreement.
It is noticeable that every time US President Donald Trump escalates the threats or signals the possibility of escalation, a new initiative from the Pakistanis or another message of “progress” emerges. Pakistan presents itself as a diplomatic player, but in reality it acts primarily out of its own interests, in an attempt to stabilize its collapsing economy.
