Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Eyal Zamir conducted an operational tour and situation assessment in northern Samaria today (Wednesday), declaring that the IDF has created a new security reality across all fronts through offensive initiative rather than containment.
3+“There is no containment—only initiative,” Zamir said during the visit, which included top IDF operational and legal command, among them Central Command chief Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth, Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories Maj. Gen. Yoram Halevi, and Military Advocate General Maj. Gen. Itai Ofir. The chief of staff received briefings on ongoing operations in refugee camps and noted that terror levels in the sector are at their lowest thanks to the shift to an offensive initiative policy.
During discussions with battalion commanders and soldiers in the field, brigade commanders presented the sector situation and recent weeks’ achievements in thwarting terror infrastructure. Zamir expressed appreciation for cooperation between the IDF and all security agencies and emphasized the transition from defensive operations to offensive action across all theaters.
3+“The IDF is operating across all fronts with initiative and offensiveness,” Zamir said. “We’ve created a new security reality—we’re continuing the fighting in Lebanon, operating in the Litani and other areas and thwarting dozens of terrorists and infrastructure daily. In Gaza too we’re operating offensively and eliminating terrorists, and here in Judea and Samaria we’re operating without pause and achieving results. There is no containment—only initiative.”
The chief of staff made clear the IDF maintains high alert for any escalation scenario: “The campaign is not over. The IDF is prepared for renewed fighting if required and remains in constant readiness and alertness in defense and offense—from Judea and Samaria to Tehran. The northern Samaria sector is undergoing a significant transformation process.”
3+The tour also included Head of the Civil Administration Lt. Col. Hisham Ibrahim, Judea and Samaria Division commander Brig. Gen. Kobi Heller, and commanders of the Samaria and Menashe brigades. Zamir praised the Nahal Brigade, which arrived in the sector immediately after intense fighting in Lebanon: “I’m confident it will achieve results here as well.”
The chief of staff’s statement comes at the height of a period characterized by extended brigade-level operations in terror hubs in Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur al-Shams. According to military data, terror levels in Judea and Samaria are now among the lowest recorded in recent years. The change is attributed to the shift from “focused thwarting” operations to broad operations destroying underground infrastructure and explosives labs inside refugee camps.
3+In the Lebanese front, the IDF continues to deepen its hold in the Litani area, a month after the peak of intense fighting in the sector, though Israeli forces are dealing with a significant threat from explosive drones that recently caused soldier casualties. In Gaza, systematic elimination of terrorist cells and remaining infrastructure in the Strip continues.
The mention of “Tehran” in the chief of staff’s remarks reflects the General Staff’s readiness for direct action against the third circle, as part of the conception that terror in Judea and Samaria is directed and funded by the Iranian axis of evil.
