The IDF Spokesperson updated today (Tuesday) that Israeli forces continue to tighten their operational grip on southern Lebanon and are thwarting attempts to harm soldiers in the field. This morning, drone footage was released from the 226th Brigade, operating under the 146th Division, showing a rapid target acquisition and the elimination of a terrorist cell that was operating in dangerous proximity to our forces.
During routine activity, troops from Brigade 226, operating under the 146th Division, identified the two armed operatives using an armed drone as they moved dangerously close to Israeli positions in southern Lebanon.
Upon recognition, IDF forces started closing in on the terrorists and when they attempted to escape on a motorcycle, the drone struck and killed them while they were in motion. The precision strike eliminated the threat without endangering ground forces.
Separately, Hezbollah fired an anti-tank missile Monday night at the area where IDF forces were operating in southern Lebanon. The missile landed near the troops but caused no casualties.
The IDF quickly located the building from which the missile was launched. Air Force aircraft attacked and destroyed the structure in what the military described as immediate “threat removal” following any attempt to harm maneuvering forces.
Brigade 226 and the 146th Division have spent recent weeks clearing southern Lebanon of Hezbollah terror infrastructure, focusing on anti-tank cells and Radwan Force units. The mountainous and complex terrain has forced the IDF to rely heavily on advanced technology, with armed drones becoming a central tool for neutralizing threats at close range.
