Reserve forces discovered a booby-trapped pit containing a 900-kilogram explosive device, along with a terror position stocked with mortars and rockets aimed at Israeli troops and civilians.

The IDF released footage Wednesday showing reserve forces from the 226th Brigade uncovering extensive Hezbollah terror weaponry in southern Lebanon, including a massive booby-trapped pit containing a 900-kilogram explosive device.

The forces, operating under the 146th Division south of the defense line, are working to prevent direct threats to residents of northern Israel.

During the operation, troops discovered the booby-trapped pit—believed to be an old device planted in the area years ago. In a separate find, soldiers uncovered a terror position stocked with mortar shells and rockets aimed at striking forces operating in the area and Israeli civilians.

The IDF emphasized it will continue acting decisively against any threat directed at Israeli citizens and security forces, and that operations are being carried out in accordance with political leadership directives. Operational activity in the sector continues with the goal of ensuring the security of northern residents and enabling their safe return home.
