Israeli forces demolished two underground Hezbollah terror tunnel networks in southern Lebanon, using over 450 tons of explosives to destroy nearly two kilometers of passages that housed more than 30 rooms and dozens of operational shafts.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) destroyed two extensive Hezbollah terror tunnels in southern Lebanon on Tuesday. The tunnels, spanning nearly two kilometers in total length, were demolished in the Qantara area using a massive explosion of over 450 tons of explosives, in an operation carried out by forces from the 7th Brigade and the Yahalom combat engineering unit.

According to an IDF spokesperson, one of the tunnels was actively used in recent months by Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force. Through the tunnel, the terrorists advanced terror plots against the State of Israel and its citizens, posing a direct and tangible threat to northern residents and security forces.

Inside the complex tunnel network, which totaled roughly two kilometers in length, more than 30 rooms for lodging and staging were discovered. In addition, approximately 30 operational shafts were uncovered, designed to allow terrorists rapid and covert movement underground as part of their preparations for terror activity.
