Border Police forces in the Jerusalem envelope arrested 19 illegal residents Saturday after they crossed the security barrier near the Atarot industrial zone. The swift operation was made possible by precise guidance from IDF spotters, who identified the suspects crossing in real time.
Once the spotters reported the breach, Border Police units rushed to the area and launched extensive searches to locate the suspects. During the operation, forces found all 19 illegal residents hiding together inside a nearby building. They were arrested on the spot and transferred for further investigation to the Border Police’s Investigation and Intelligence Division in the Jerusalem envelope.
Police said this operation is part of Border Police’s determined and ongoing fight across all sectors against illegal residency. As part of that effort, Border Police arrested 256 illegal residents in the past week alone, along with 45 additional suspects who assisted them with transportation, employment, and lodging.
